| Hillard Rest graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters Degree.
He taught at Crafton Hills College before joining Dean Witter Reynolds in Beverly Hills in 1978.
He is a well-known expert in planning for retirement. He has taught retirement planning seminars since 1978 and was seen by millions in southern California when he hosted his own TV shows Stock Market Alternatives and Focus on Finance.
Mr. Rest earned the coveted recognition of Certified Financial Planner professional (CFP), which required him to take a two year course of study and pass six rigorous exams proving his comprehensive knowledge of investments, taxes and estate planning.
He is the author of the book How to Profit from Your Investment Personality and his new book Focus on Finance - Decisions you need to make now to avoid financial failure and has written numerous articles on investing for newspapers and for such national magazines as Registered Representative and Research.
Hillard married the girl next door whom he met when he was nine years old. They have two sons and seven grandchildren.
